10 MORE Awesome Movie Monsters Only In One Scene
1. Meg Mucklebones - Legend
Legend is a movie that sounds all sunshine and smiles on the surface, with a flock of unicorns and a wholesome fairy tale comprising the bulk of the fantastical adventure, with lovely Tom Cruise front and centre. But when you go poking about into what's actually going on as a force of evil attempts to turn the world into an eternal state of night, you find horses sucked into swamps, an devilish Tim Curry as the antagonist, and none other than Ridley Scott orchestrating the whole terrifying ordeal from the director's seat. Ah, of course.
And during this feverish dark fantasy tale we meet Meg Mucklebones, a swamp witch comprised entirely of practical effects who's rubbery, green appearance is one sure to stick with you long after watching. Screeching as she converses with Cruise's Jack, she's killed quite literally with his kindness as he showers her with compliments to distract from her sudden decapitation.
Watching this title as a child was a one way ticket to sleepless nights thanks to Meg, but she's an awesome example of mind blowing effects work all the same.
