10 MORE Awesome Movie Monsters Only In One Scene
3. Brundlefly - The Fly
The Fly is David Cronenberg's disgusting ode to all things sticky and gross, merging Jeff Goldblum's DNA with that of a housefly as he suffers from a unique incident whilst testing teleporting technology. As the film goes on Seth Brundle devolves further and further into a man-monster, until he quite literally sheds his skin to become the Brundlefly - a state he wants to combine with his girlfriend Ronnie and their unborn child inside her. I mean, it would save a lot on clothes, at the very least, if they're all one amalgamated blob.
The Brundlefly himself, the little fella scamp, only appears for one scene by rule of the narrative. Brundle's metamorphosis has continued to get more extreme throughout the movie, and whilst this seems to be his final form, it ends with the Brundlefly conjoining himself with a metal door by accident. Ronnie manages to escape her confinement for the body scrambling, and Brundle fuses himself with nothing inside his telepod - making for one more monster that only appears for a scene, too.
