10 More Awful Times Movie Actors Were Combined With CGI

7. Halle Berry - Catwoman

Catwoman rooftop scene Halle Berry

We see what you're trying to do, Halle Berry. Trying to distract us from how abysmal your movie is by wearing that skimpy outfit. Well, it's not going to work! We can look past your leathery deception and see the Catwoman parkour special effects for how bad they truly are.

Now, for a lot of scenes in Catwoman, Berry is obviously on-set for real, wearing a real costume. But those scenes where the character is leaping across rooftops and sliding down walls in a death-defying manner? Spoiler alert: those are fake.

Like the problems found in Black Panther's final fight, digital Halle Berry looks far too floaty and smooth, and downright fake when the camera pushes in close to see the simplistic, PS2-level render of her face. The unconvincing CGI is highlighted even further when the scene cuts to the real Halle Berry, and you're reminded what real humans actually look and move like when under the influence of Earth's gravity.

If it was pulled from, say, Batman: Arkham Asylum - or any other last-gen game, for that matter - this scene would look just fine, but in a $100 million blockbuster with an Oscar-winning leading lady? It really ain't good.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
