10 More Awful Times Movie Actors Were Combined With CGI

4. Ioan Gruffudd - Fantastic Four

Reed Richards Wolverine
Fantastic Four

If there's one positive thing we can say about this CGI, it's that it was cut from the film, so a lot of moviegoers have not yet laid eyes on this utter monstrosity. If you were one of them... we're sorry.

So, what's actually happening here? Well, in the scene, Reed Richards is having a heart-to-heart with lover Sue Storm - perfectly normal relationship stuff. He then tells her that he thought she always wanted a stronger man, at which point, he transforms into Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, because, y'know, he's strong and that.

Or we should say he attempts to transform, because what he actually ends up looking like is a knock-off version of Hugh Jackman who might do Wolverine impersonations at kids parties. It looks fake as balls, and the impossibly smooth skin and hair textures - as well as the cheap and nasty "transform" effect - give the impression that this shot was never finished, which, considering that it was deleted, is likely.

Maybe the crew got halfway through doing it, realised they were creating an abomination, and gave up?

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
