10 More Best Non-Final Girls In Horror Movies

1. Vasquez - Aliens

Part science fiction film, part action movie, and all laced in a glorious sheen of horror, James Cameron's Aliens is one of the all-time great sequels. It also happen to have one of the all-time great non-final girls.

For the Alien franchise, the long-standing 'final girl' is of course Ellen Ripley, and Vasquez was one of those to find themselves fighting the good fight alongside Ripley in 1986's Aliens.

After spending 57 years in stasis following the close of the first movie, poor Ripley is coerced into returning to the scene of those horrors by the oft-dodgy Weyland-Yutani group. But fear not, for our central protagonist has a bunch of Colonial Marines along for the ride - and amongst them, is Vazquez.

Surprisingly her first ever acting role, Jenette Goldstein absolutely kills it in the Vasquez role, delivering a character fondly remembered to this day for her tough persona and gun-toting ways. In a Marines team dripping with machismo, Vasquez is the baddest of the bad, the toughest of the tough, and the one you'd want watching your back if you're facing off with something as utterly chilling as a Xenomorph.
