10 More Best Non-Final Girls In Horror Movies

8. Annie Brackett - Halloween

The Halloween franchise is responsible for likely the greatest final girl in horror history - that being Laurie Strode - and it's a series which also has several impressive non-final girls amongst its 13 movies.

While there was the temptation to go with Rachel Carruthers of Halloweens 4 and 5 here, it's Annie Brackett who gets the nod for this most beloved of franchises. Played by Nancy Loomis, Annie is one of the best friends of Jamie Lee Curtis' Laurie, and she unfortunately doesn't survive the night he came home back in 1978.

Still, Annie was a great addition to John Carpenter's picture, with her a more sensible, sarcastic, and responsible figure than her and Laurie's other best pal, Lynda Van Der Klok. Annie also has the distinction of being the daughter of Sheriff Brackett, which brings a different dynamic to the table when she ends up dead at the hands of Michael - strangled in her car and then her throat sliced - and this news makes it way to Brackett at the start of Halloween II.

For Rob Zombie's take on Halloween, Annie - as played by Danielle Harris - did actually survive the first film, although she was brutally butchered by the Shape in one of the most memorable sequences from Zombie's opinion-splitting Halloween II.
