9. The Woman In The Window
While the upcoming Amy Adams flick may not have been on everyone's watchlist, it probably should be. Helmed by director Joe Wright (Atonement, Hanna), The Woman In The Window takes inspiration from the A. J. Finn novel of the same name and also serves as a farewell to the Fox 2000 label, which has been dissolved in the Disney merger.
The casting boasts some incredible talents, with Gary Oldman and Antony Mackie starring alongside Adams.
The plot is a thrilling mystery, in which an agoraphobic doctor starts to spy on her neighbours. Dr. Anna Fox lives in isolation, spending her time day drinking and watching old movies. That is, until one day she witnesses an incident whilst watching the family on the other side of the street. When she reports the incident to police, no-one will take her claim seriously and she must investigate for herself. She sets out to get to the bottom of what she saw and why it is that no-one seems to believe her, or care.
This isn't the first time the film has suffered delays. Originally due to release in 2019, Disney executives called for large scale changes due to poor responses in test screenings. The film currently has no scheduled release date.
