As much as he tries, Jared Leto just can't catch a break when it comes to comic book movies. His take on the Clown Prince of Crime in Suicide Squad was universally panned, leading the actor to look elsewhere for future work as another actor won an Oscar portraying Joker. Unfortunately for the actor, his upcoming Spider-Man spin off has also ran into troubles of its own.

From day one, the announcement of a solo outing for Morbius was met with disdain. Fans wondered why the villain was chosen over so many of Spidey's more popular villains and the casting of Leto for the part did little to ease fans concern.

Morbius will serve as an origin story for the character, delving into the disease that afflicts Michael and the steps he took to try and cure himself. After trying an experimental cure, the Nobel Prize winner has his life turned upside down when he is inflicted with vampirism. To his horror, he finds himself relying on the consumption of blood to stay alive. The Living Vampire is torn between his desire to be a hero and his murderous diet.

Reshoots for Morbius started in February 2020 and managed to wrap before production was shut down across the industry. Despite being complete, the film has been pushed back to March 2021 to allow for the industry to recover.
