10 More Disturbing Scenes Cut From Comic Book Movies

9. A Closer Look At A Scarred New Joker - The Batman

Speaking of horrifically scarred villains, 2022's three-hour wander around the bleak streets of Gotham still couldn't find the space to give Barry Keoghan's Joker more to do than cackle with Riddler within a jail cell.

The talented Irishman did actually spend some more time in front of the camera as his version of the iconic 'Clown Prince of Crime', though.

In fact, it would eventually be revealed that Keoghan shot an unsettling scene opposite the Dark Knight himself, Robert Pattinson, that was deemed surplus to requirements in the end.

Said exchange involved Batman trying to get into the mindset of a serial killer, with The Bat feeling that conversation with a character known as "the unseen prisoner" in the script would do the trick.

Keoghan's grotesque arch-nemesis of the Caped Crusader spends the majority of his freaky Arkham Asylum chat about The Riddler out of focus, with only a few glimpses of the congenial disease that causes him to constantly boast a disturbing smile being caught in the scene.

And while this moment certainly leaves a mark and makes you long to see more of Keoghan's green-haired serial killer, director Matt Reeves ultimately decided that it wasn't narratively necessary.

However, this sinister conversation was too glorious to keep from Bat fans, so it was eventually released online a few weeks after the film's release.
