And finally, the whole premise of Annabelle Comes Home is just begging for a dressing down. Built upon the legend of Annabelle - aka the titular cursed doll that has been housed by the Warrens for safekeeping from the world - the film sees the Warren family home beset upon by nasty spirits, released under groan-inducingly stupid circumstances.

Teen Daniela manages to work her way into an artefact room full of evil items locked away by paranormal investigators, the Warrens, believing that she'll be able to find something that will allow her to communicate with her dead father.

Whilst desperation plays into how this whole thing works, Daniela's decision to singlehandedly mess with every single item in the room whilst fully believing that they hold the power to commune with the dead is particularly backwards - if she thinks there's power there, then she'd know not to start aimlessly tinkering with literal demonic cursed items for fear of getting a literal demonic curse.

That she then cracks into the Annabelle case and leaves it open is just the cherry on the cake. There's being careless, and there's being Daniela, who absolutely deserves a horde of evil spirits brought upon herself with this whole mess. Keep your hands to yourself, girl.
