The marvellous Bradley Cooper would eventually go on to make a hell of an impact in the superhero sphere with his impressive voice work as Rocket Raccoon in the MCU. But there was actually a time pre-Guardians of the Galaxy when the Hangover star was in the running to play another super-powered hero.

And if it wasn't for an incredible performance from Christian Bale as the legendary Caped Crusader, Cooper feels he probably wouldn't have fumbled this chance to play the Green Lantern on the big-screen.

That's right, before Ryan Reynolds eventually found himself in the horrendous CGI suit as Hal Jordan, Cooper read for the part, too. And it was during that meeting when the star simply could not help putting on a Bale Batman voice once he donned the character's mask.

Cooper would also reveal on The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien (via MTV News) that not even being told to speak in a "normal voice" beforehand could stop his Bat-ccent from coming out during the scenes.

Then, after having a quick look at the performance he'd just produced on the monitor in the room, a rather embarrassed Cooper soon felt that his audition, one that looked like a "Saturday Night Live sketch", wasn't going to be enough to wrestle the part away from Reynolds - who Cooper admittedly claimed he would have cast if he was directing the film anyway.
