Dellamorte Dellamore, otherwise known as Cemetery Man, is what happens when you take the Italian director Michele Soavi, give him the one and only Rupert Everett as the leading man, and put him in a graveyard. It is, in other words, a wonderfully bizarre slice of Italian cinema.

Partly inspired by the Dylan Dog comics, and sort of based on the novel of the same name by Tiziano Sclavi, Dellamorte Dellamore is only the kind of movie you could get from our eccentric brethren in Europe.

It follows Francesco (Everett) as a cemetery caretaker who passes his time with old telephone directories whilst contemplating his place in life, all the while ensuring that the constantly rising undead are put back in their place. However, things get topsy turvy when he falls for an enchanting widow and they do the horizontal shuffle on someone's grave, only for her to get bitten, die, and rise from the dead.

The narrative meanders and at times events feel nonsensical, but Everett's nonchalant performance combined with the movie's nutty events make this a zombie movie like nothing you've ever seen.
