10 More Horror Characters We All Foolishly Thought Had Got Away

1. Wendy Christensen (Final Destination 3)

Final Destination 3 ending

The Final Destination movies usually end with our characters thinking they've escaped Death's clutches, only for them to be offed in some sort of crazy accident.

By the time Final Destination 3 rolled around in 2006, we should've probably expected that this trope would continue, but it's tough to ignore that small part of ourselves that believes, even for a moment, that everything is sunshine and rainbows.

That's how it seems at the end of this third instalment, with our heroine Wendy Christensen having evaded several deadly scenarios - including a faulty rollercoaster and a runaway truck - and is now fairly convinced that the grim reaper is off her back. Us viewers also start to buy that she's out of harm's way, but the mood changes from hopeful to horrific when Wendy has a premonition of her and her mates dying in one of the most over-the-top train crashes ever put to film.

But that's just a premonition, right? It's not a guarantee. Well, considering that we hear the train careening off its rails as the movie cuts to black, any hopes of Wendy making it to Final Destination 4 were swiftly put to bed.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
