10 More Horror Movie Jump Scares You’ll NEVER Forget

4. Blade - It's Alive!

Blade Wesley Snipes
New Line Cinema

Despite being an enormously gory movie about vampire gods, Blade isn't all that scary. It's an action movie first and foremost, and it's a bloody good one at that.

Still, the few scares in there hit the jackpot, namely an early stinger involving a couple of doctors - Karen and Curtis - and a completely charred (and presumably dead) vampire on the operating table.

During an autopsy of the body the pair are discussing their past, until the vampire suddenly jumps up and viciously bites Curtis on the neck.

It's such a good, surprising scare, with an excellent pay off to boot. The look of the vampire, alongside just how brutal the kill is and the subsequent carnage he causes is a shock to the system, and shows just how powerful the undead are in this universe.

Even the arrival of Blade himself on the scene isn't quite enough to calm the nerves.
