Between the ages of 12 and 22, Daniel Radcliffe was Harry Potter. Not just in the sense that he played the character in the movies, but more he was the boy wizard in the eyes of millions of people around the world.

Once that series wrapped up, there was concern that Radcliffe would be overshadowed by the role for the rest of his life. Those concerns didn't last for long though, as the year after the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 came out, Radcliffe appeared in something completely different.

He took on the lead role in the second movie adaptation of Susan Hill’s The Woman in Black, playing a man who becomes entangled in the web of a vengeful spirit. The picture, which was marketed on the fact that it was so scary, was a long way removed from the whimsy of Potter and showed that the geeky kid with the glasses was going to be alright.

Since The Woman in Black, Daniel Radcliffe has continued to diversify his output, playing Allen Ginsburg in Kill Your Darlings, a magical creature in Horns, and a dead body in Swiss Army Man. Now that’s variety.
