10 More Horror Movie Sequels That Were Just Too Cruel
8. Wolf Creek 2
The first Wolf Creek was already an incredibly cruel film with an extreme emphasis on human suffering as meted out by vicious outback serial killer Mick Taylor (John Jarratt), though at least the original ended with one of Taylor's victims, Ben (Nathan Phillips), surviving and eventually being cleared of suspicion by the police.
Wolf Creek 2 is a much meaner sequel, however, on account of the fact that nobody escapes Taylor's wrath in one piece.
Though protagonist Paul (Ryan Corr) does survive his encounter with Mick, he ends up suspected of committing many of Mick's murders in the Wolf Creek area.
The stress of this causes Paul to suffer a mental breakdown, resulting in him being deported back to the UK where he's placed in full-time care at a high-security psychiatric hospital.
As if the filmmakers felt like they were a little too generous to audiences last time, Paul surviving was apparently too much this time around - he also needed to be mentally broken to the point that he'll seemingly never be the same again.
