2. The Cult - Rosemary’s Baby

Neighbours. Sometimes they're Ned Flanders, sometimes they're the satanists from Rosemary's Baby.

There is no in-between.

This classic horror from 1968 fixates on the eponymous Rosemary and her unborn child, which the elderly residents of her building want to use as part of a demonic ritual.

Another reason never to be nice to old people.

The cult has used Rosemary as a vessel for the son of Satan himself. When the child is born and his mother discovers his true parentage, she is horrified. But not for long.

Maternal instincts are a powerful thing. Ever tried arguing with someone's Mum? Don't. It won't end well.

Rosemary cannot help but care for the child she carried for nine months, even if it is literal Hell spawn. The film ends with the distraught mother rocking her child to sleep, as the cult members watch on in glee.

Throw in the months of mental anguish Rosemary was put through by the cult and it's not hard to see why this happened.

Regardless if it was natural urges, brainwashing, or a combination of both, the fact that this child exists spells good news for the satanists, but bad news for pretty much everyone else.
