10 More Horror Movies That Had TWO Incredible Villains
3. Hannibal Lecter & Francis Dolarhyde - Red Dragon
It's something of a tradition for the Hannibal Lecter movies to give us at least a couple of horrifyingly unforgettable villains for good measure, and Red Dragon - a prequel to The Silence of the Lambs - doesn't disappoint in that regard.
Even though Lecter (Anthony Hopkins) has a far more subdued role in Red Dragon, his screen time is actually considerably greater than that in The Silence of the Lambs, and of course, Hopkins reprises the part with all the sinewy gusto you'd expect.
The film's main antagonist, however, is a serial killer nicknamed The Tooth Fairy, whose real identity is Francis Dolarhyde (Ralph Fiennes).
And though Dolarhyde isn't as iconic as Lecter or, say, Buffalo Bill (Ted Levine), Ralph Fiennes brings his own uniquely discomforting quality to the part, while the nature of Dolarhyde's own traumatic past brings welcome shade and dimension to his characterisation.
