10 MORE Horror Movies That Will Make You Say WTF Did I Just Watch?

1. The Home

Rather than being "so bad, it's good," The Home is "so bad and weird, it's hilarious".

Helmed by the creator of The Purge franchise, James DeMonaco's mystery drama follows petty criminal, Max (Pete Davidson), who agrees to work at a care home to avoid jail. Upon exploring the ward, Max discovers the residents aren't as innocent as they seem.

Although the set-up and social commentary is intriguing, The Home is too preposterous to be deemed scary. Rather than indulging the campiness, The Home is dead serious from beginning to end. The unintentional comedy is accentuated further by Pete Davidson's vacant expression every time he looks at surreal imagery or the most OTT death possible.

A couple of scenes are genuinely gripping but either go nowhere, are contradicted by a nonsensical twist, or are interrupted by something ridiculous. There are so many unpredictable shifts from bleak psychological horror to cartoonish violence, it breaks your brain after a while.

No matter how bizarre things get, The Home always find a way to top itself. Even if viewers aren't ironically enjoying the film, they'll be encouraged to keep watching, just to see what bonkers idea comes next.
