3. Jill - Scream 4
Scream 4 brought the franchise into the 2010s. But reintroducing Scream to a new generation meant shaking things up as it couldn't just focus on Sidney, Gale, and Dewey. Instead, the sequel brought new characters into the fold such as Charlie, Kirby, Trevor, and most importantly, Jill Roberts.
Played by Emma Roberts, the character served as the main protagonist among the new cast and was even labeled in the film as the new Sidney Prescott. From the sketchy boyfriend to surviving multiple Ghostface attacks, the movie was setting her up to be the new final girl only to reveal that she was the true villain all along.
Turns out that Jill had planned on the entire killing spree and along with her accomplice Charlie, aimed to be the new Sidney and Randy. She even comes close to getting away with it as she stabs Sidney with a knife and injures herself to appear as a survivor.
In the end, however, a careless slip-up allows Dewey and Gale to figure out the truth as Jill is defeated and killed by our main trio.
