Youngest child Beau soon discovers a light-up toy spaceship - unbeknownst to his parents or siblings, the boy retains the batteries that would operate the toy's speakers.
As the Abbotts carefully make their way home, Beau surreptitiously slips the batteries into his new plaything - immediately producing a loud noise that instantly attracts one of the aliens. Krasinski's Lee Abbott desperately rushes towards his oblivious child in a last-ditch attempt to save him, only to see his young son swiped away by a creature in a heartbreaking instant.
