10 More Horror Movies You Constantly Have To Defend Loving
1. Jason X (2006)
Space, the cosmic unknown, the final frontier, the birthplace of the stars, and, most importantly, the last lifeline for dying horror franchises.
It is a long since worn out trope for a movie series to send their iconic characters to space in a desperate attempt to add some steam back into them, and Jason X is often considered the most egregious offender of this. But, come on, if you're not having fun with this stupid-as-hell movie, then you're not living!
Jason X - which takes the beloved Friday the 13th villain and pits him against the crew of a spaceship - takes place in the 25th century. It's a ludicrous sci-fi slasher with some outrageous kills and enough B-movie fun to turn Spock into Schlock.
There is a tongue-in-cheek self-awareness to the flick that often goes unnoticed; this film knows what it is and does not take itself seriously. As such, you'll have a great time if you allow yourself in on the joke.
Some point to this sci-fi slasher as a low point for Jason Voorhees, but at least it isn't boring.
