10 More Huge Movies That Were Instantly Forgotten

Expectations were certainly high pre-release for Tomorrowland, Pixar director Brad Bird's second foray into live-action blockbuster territory, following up the terrific Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol.

Yet despite many box office analysts expecting the sci-fi film to be one of 2015's big successes, it simply failed to strike a chord with general moviegoers.

Critics and audiences alike were wildly mixed on Tomorrowland's clunky messaging and dubious degree of wonder, no matter the strong visuals and solid performances from George Clooney, Hugh Laurie, Britt Robertson, and Raffey Cassidy.

And so, despite being a near-$200 million Disney blockbuster with one of the biggest A-listers in film history at the forefront, Tomorrowland slid out of cinemas in the summer of 2015 to basically never be talked about again - except in articles like this.

It sure didn't help that Mad Max: Fury Road released a week earlier and dominated the cinematic discourse for a good while afterwards, but even so, given Tomorrowland's themes of inspiring tomorrow's youth, it's shocking how few it resonated with.
