10 More Incredible Horror Movies You’ll Never Watch Again (And Why)
1. Men Behind The Sun
Countless atrocities were committed during World War II, including international invasions, kamikaze attacks, exterminations, atomic bombings, and death camps. However, Men Behind the Sun covers another event during that time period that few people are familiar with.
The story here focuses on a Japanese research facility that specialised in biological warfare called Unit 731. Imperial leader Shiro Ishii ordered his soldiers and scientists to perform experiments on prisoners, hoping to create a strain of the bubonic plague.
If there has ever been a movie that viewers wish wasn't based on a true story, it's this one. Children are dissected alive, inmates are blown to pieces while crucified, a cat is eaten by hundreds of rats, and a woman has the skin of her hands ripped down to the bone (which was achieved by using the arms of a real cadaver). What's worse is the film concludes by emphasising Shiro's troops suffered no consequences from their diabolical actions.
Since Men Under the Sun is a historic drama, some may be compelled to watch it to gain insight into one of the darkest chapters of World War II. But after witnessing the worst that humanity has to offer, there's no need to watch it again. In fact, some people will be left so shaken by Men Behind The Sun, they'll regret watching it at all.
