10 More Insane Movie Theories That Actually Make Sense

4. The Ending Was Already Affected By No Way Home - Spider-Man 2

Spider-Man is no stranger to theories that would retrospectively change previous movies. Many, including Tom Holland, believe that the little kid in Iron Man 2 was a young Peter Parker, but what about a No Way Home theory that actively changes a Spider-Man movie from a different universe, 17 years before it?

In spite of the length of time between Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man: No Way Home, this theory suggests that the ending to Sam Raimi's second Spidey outing shows what happens when Doc Ock returns to his home universe after his escapade on Earth-616. This certainly would explain the sudden change of heart the villain goes through at the end of the film.

Otto said in No Way Home that the last thing he remembered was that he had Peter by the throat. However, that isn't the moment he died in the movie, and as it makes sense that he would return to the same place from which he left, this Spider-Man 2 scene could feature two different versions of the character.

He is the original up until that change of heart, which happens when he returns back to his universe after being cured by Tom Holland's Peter Parker.
