10 More Insane Reasons Actors Didn't Return For Sequels
6. Bill Murray's On Set Behaviour - Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle
They say to never meet your heroes. Bill Murray is a legend of the business and likely the comedic hero of an entire generation, but there have been multiple reports and rumours about the man's antics on the set of Charlie's Angels that don't exactly paint him in the best light.
Namely, Murray clashed with both director McG and star Lucy Liu in a big way, and it is absolutely no surprise that he was ultimately replaced in the sequel, Full Throttle, three years later.
The incident with Lucy Liu, as explained by Liu herself, saw Murray berate her in front of everyone on set, singling her out for seemingly no apparent reason, and using language that was "inexcusable and unacceptable". Then there is the fact that he allegedly headbutted the director, something that Murray has denied, but responded to by saying that he believed McG deserved to die.
Whether it was the studio, McG, or Murray himself who decided that he would not return, this kind of behaviour and treatment of other human beings is never going to end well, no matter who you are.
