For Avengers: Infinity War, the titular team was pulled apart. Thor and Hulk were off-world, Clint had retired, and in the wake of Civil War, Team Cap scattered with Steve and Tony no longer on speaking terms. However, they were all going to have to come back together, with others, to fight Thanos.

No one quite knew what this would look like, or how the likes of the Guardians, Doctor Strange, or Black Panther would be integrated. However, there was a scene in the Infinity War trailer that teased a group of heroes running into battle in Wakanda.

Following Captain America were Bucky, Natasha, Okoye, T'Challa, Rhodey, Sam, and the Hulk. With the exception of the Hulk, since the Other Guy refused to show his big green face after losing to Thanos, all of these characters were in Wakanda for the battle, but this scene never transitioned from the trailer to the movie.

As confirmed by the Russo brothers, there was never any intention for this shot to hit cinemas. Instead, it was filmed specifically for the trailers as something of a misdirect away from the true events of the film.
