10 More Movie Moments Everyone Was Waiting For (That Never Happened)

4. Deadpool's Cameo - Logan

After the huge success of his first solo movie in 2016, the world wanted to see more Deadpool. More accurately, the world wanted to see Deadpool interact with Wolverine. Logan was referenced several times throughout the movie, and with the bad taste left from X-Men Origins still lingering, something needed to be done.

Just one year removed from Deadpool's first proper cinematic appearance came what was thought at the time to be Wolverine's last. Logan was the curtain call for Hugh Jackman, and without the foresight to see the two characters teaming up together seven years later in Deadpool 3, it represented the last chance for them to properly share the screen.

Rumours surrounding Ryan Reynolds' appearance in Logan simply wouldn't go away, to the point that it almost felt like a foregone conclusion that he would show up. Thankfully, that wasn't the case.

There couldn't have been a bigger gulf between the tone of Deadpool and that of James Mangold's Logan, and the gritty dystopian future was absolutely not the place to bring in the Merc with the Mouth. Arguably the best X-Men movie Fox ever put out was better for omitting Deadpool, and audiences will still get their chance to see the pair tear it up on screen together in 2024.
