10 More Movie Post-Credits Scenes That Went Absolutely Nowhere

What is it with Superman and post-credits scenes? In 2019, the Man of Steel showed his chest in Shazam! only to never interact with the character again, but that's nothing compared to Clark Kent's appearance alongside Dwayne Johnson in Black Adam.

This was Hollywood's worst-kept secret at the time, but the return of Superman signalled something big in the future of the DC Extended Universe. Though his chest had appeared in Shazam!, and his silhouette made an appearance in Peacemaker, this was Superman's first real DCEU appearance since Justice League.

One of the biggest marketing tactics of Black Adam was promoting a power shift in the DCEU, and bringing the titular character face to face with Superman was paramount to that. Such two heavy hitters facing off could have been something special, but in reality it didn't matter who was opposite Supes upon his return, this was about Henry Cavill.

However, shortly after the movie released and the English actor could officially confirm his return to the role, James Gunn dashed everyone's hopes. Not only would Black Adam be shelved, no longer a part of the future of DC's plans, but Cavill would be replaced as the Man of Steel for Superman: Legacy and in the DCU in general. What a waste of everyone's time.
