10 More Movie Post-Credits Scenes That Went Absolutely Nowhere

8. The Return Of Lobster Johnson - Hellboy

David Harbour himself has said that part of the reason his iteration of Hellboy failed was that if it wasn't from Guillermo del Toro and Ron Perlman, fans didn't want to see it. Even referencing that this was picked up on before filming began, the troubled reboot still tried to build and set up its own universe.

There were two major teases at the end of the movie, the first being Abe Sapien just before the credits started rolling. As if this wasn't enough, there was then also a further tease for the future of the franchise in a mid-credits sting as well.

As Hellboy sat mourning the death of Ian McShane's Professor Broom, he was greeted by Lobster Johnson, Thomas Haden Church's character that had been introduced in flashbacks earlier in the movie, and who was supposedly dead. Johnson told Hellboy that he had won the battle but the war was far from over, clearly teasing further battles to come.

However, with Jack Kesy set to take on the Hellboy mantle with a completely new iteration, barring some kind of Hellboy: No Way Home scenario - something even more unlikely than getting Maguire, Garfield, and Holland on screen together - we won't ever see either David Harbour or Thomas Haden Church suit up in this way again.
