More and more movies in recent memory have seemingly made the supposed video game movie curse a thing of the past. The likes of Sonic the Hedgehog, Detective Pikachu, and The Super Mario Bros Movie have all seen success, but there is still yet to be a good Hitman movie.

After an underwhelming film in 2007, Hitman was rebooted in 2015 with Rupert Friend as the titular Agent 47. Unfortunately, this was received even worse than the original picture. The 8% score on Rotten Tomatoes speaks for itself.

Throughout the movie, Zachary Quinto's Smith acts as the antagonist, but is ultimately killed by 47. Until that is, the reveal in the post-credits scene that he is still alive. His electrocution left him with white hair, something that would have acted as his origin story in becoming the Albino, a character from the Hitman games. Ironically, for a movie that seemed to ignore a lot of the Hitman lore, this was something for those familiar with the franchise to get excited about.

Even in spite of the lackluster reception to the movie, a sequel was reportedly still in the works. However this, as well as any chance to see Zachary Quinto in this new form on screen, was killed by Disney after the Fox acquisition.
