If there is one thing you can count on from the movie industry, it's that nostalgia will continue to be exploited in any way possible. TV shows from decades ago will continue to be adapted for the big screen in the hope that nostalgia alone will make them worth doing.

In this, there have been varying levels of success, with 2017's Power Rangers falling way short of the mark. Like most new movies, this was planned to be the beginning of a whole franchise, but a poor critical reception and underwhelming box office return saw the end of these plans after just one outing.

By the end of the movie, anyone who knew anything about the Power Rangers could have guessed where the inevitable post-credits scene was going. The film featured five rangers, but had omitted arguably the most popular, and certainly the most powerful in Tommy Oliver's Green Ranger.

As the kids returned to detention at the end of the story, the teacher introduced Tommy Oliver as a new kid, but in his place on the desk was just a green jacket. Chances are this could have kicked off a story arc that could have spanned several movies if things had been different, but now it will just go down as a missed opportunity.
