7. Battle Of The Bulge (1965)

The Greatest Showman Hugh Jackman
Warner Bros. Pictures

Battle of the Bulge premiered on the 21st anniversary of the famed World War II conflict, boasting an ensemble cast with big names and it became a smash hit in Britain.

However, the film paid so little attention to the actual history that it featured a disclaimer in the credits that some of sequences of events were 're-arranged' and the names of the actual people were not used.

Aside from inconsistencies with the timeline, other glaring errors include using American tanks to portray German Panzers, shooting the film on a mostly flat terrain (which might not seem like a huge deal, but seeing as the mountainous geography was something major for the actual soldiers to factor in, it really matters) and ignoring the role that the British military played in winning the battle.

So deeply offended was former Supreme Allied Commander and U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower that he held a press conference opposing the film.

I like to think I'm a clever person, but apparently I'm not clever enough to come up with a witty biography.
