10 More Movies Where People Died On Set

5. GI Joe: Retaliation

Retaliation was the sequel to 2009's GI Joe: The Rise of COBRA and repeated its success at the box office by covering its budget twice over. While the critics were less kind to it, sporting an approval rating of under thirty percent, they praised the soundtrack and special effects while complaining that the storyline was brainless and by the numbers.

It managed to get a few nominations for awards and while it did pick up one, the deciding factor for sequels is always financial. While a third film had been talked about for a while, there are now two in development with releases slated for the next few years with a Transformers crossover also in the works.

For the second time within just this list, we find a scissor lift playing a role in an untimely death. 54 year old Mike Huber was working with others to dismantle sets backstage when the lift he was on fell over. Other reports state that he fell out of the lift for some reason. Either way, given the height that he was working at, the fall caused him injuries which he didn't survive and he was declared dead at a local hospital.
