10 More Out Of Place Scenes In Horror Movie History
3. Pancakes - Cabin Fever
2002's Cabin Fever is about a group of teenagers who fall victim to a flesh-eating virus. While the film launched the career of Eli Roth, one of the most talked about moments in the film is the Pancakes scene that comes out of nowhere.
In the film, Bert heads to a convenience store seeking aid when he encounters a boy named Dennis. But the child doesn't seem too well as he starts shouting 'Pancakes,' multiple times at the man. Things even escalate further when Dennis starts to perform some martial arts moves, all done in slow-motion. He then bites Bert out of nowhere while the boy's father blames the man for what just happened.
The scene manages to be memorable after all these years due to the bizarre sight and the odd dialogue. Something to add here is that it wasn't even part of the script and was added at the last minute. Dennis' actor Matthew Helms practiced Tae Kwon Do during breaks which impressed Eli Roth so much he added the scene to showcase the boy's impressive moves.
