Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania's deserving score of 47% on Rotten Tomatoes definitely reflects the threequel's lack of any real fun, excitement, or cleverness found elsewhere in the bite-size series.

In all honesty, though, the vast majority of folks who wandered into theatres to witness the latest big-screen MCU outing weren't really queuing up to see how Scott Lang and his family survived the madness of the Quantum Realm. They wanted them some Kang. And some Kang is precisely what they got.

It's little surprise that the film's few instances of genuinely compelling on-screen action go down whenever Jonathan Major's new all-conquering big bad is centre-stage. And it's the moment Ant-Man is properly introduced to Kang that provides the first real glimpse at the force our Avenging heroes will be attempting to deal with going forward.

The Conqueror's throwaway utterances of easily dispatching Avengers and the effortless way he manipulates the leading little guy into doing his bidding - via cold promise to murder his daughter should he choose to disobey - all perfectly establish the magnetic and nuanced figure as a reason to stick around for the upcoming Phases.
