10 MORE Smartest Decisions In Slasher Horror Movie History

The Cabin in the Woods is a horror movie that ticks all the boxes - you've got your creepy cabin in the woods, your unsuspecting group of friends, and your mysterious organization controlling it all. When two members of the friend group, Dana and Marty, find themselves cornered by a group of heavily armed guards, it seems like there's no way out.

That is, until they stumble upon a mysterious button labeled "system purge." In a split-second decision, they hit the button, not really knowing what to expect. What happens next is an absolute bloodbath. Every monster you could ever imagine is released from captivity, wreaking havoc on the unsuspecting guards and giving Dana and Marty a chance to make their escape.

It's a brilliant move, but it also begs the question: why on earth does this button even exist? Who thought it was a good idea to have a "system purge" button that could release all manner of terrifying creatures?
