Loki brought so much to the Marvel Cinematic Universe that was bizarre and unique, including the concept of Variants. Every being that did something they weren’t supposed to do according to the Sacred Timeline was taken by the TVA and labelled a Variant.

This led to the coming together of a smattering of different Lokis throughout the series, particularly in the Void at the End of Time. Aside from the MCU's usual Loki, Sylvie, Classic Loki, Boastful Loki, Kid Loki, and Alligator Loki, there was an army of Lokis led, at least for a short time, by President Loki.

The only other Variant of the character that was played by Tom Hiddleston was teased in the trailer, leading fans to believe that this was the main character himself, and that he would be running riot in the series, taking inspiration from the Vote Loki arc from the comics.

Instead, President Loki was merely a Variant who showed up for a minute, had his hand bitten off by Alligator Loki, and was never seen or heard from again. This could have been a phenomenal story of Loki in his element, but instead it was reduced to a cameo.
