Directed by the fantastic Gareth Edwards, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has gone down as one of the finest pieces of Star Wars media produced to date during the Disney era.

Combining stunning visuals and incredible performances with the overall tone of a real war epic, this spin-off pulls zero punches and had fans on the edge of their seats throughout - particularly during its thrilling and heartbreaking conclusion on the planet of Scarif.

The story behind how that world actually got its name, though, is about as unbelievable as it gets.

You see, after being told that he was being given the honour of naming the planet Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor would die on, Edwards wandered off to get a coffee. And it was after giving his name to the barista and then receiving his cup that the world's name was born (via CNN).

They'd clearly misheard him and written 'Scarif' on the thing, the silly gooses. But Edwards thought it sounded very "Star Wars", and that Starbucks botch eventually found its way into the galaxy far, far away in the end.
