10 Most Annoying Animated Movie Characters

Monster House is an engaging film. It takes the concept of a haunted piece of architecture and completely reinvents it to have the building be a living creature. It also uniquely approaches its animation style, utilising motion capture and actually being the only original story to use the style up until 2018. It's a fun romp and plays with some really interesting characters and performances. Sadly one of those is Chowder.

Played by Sam Lerner, there was clearly a direction that this character was designed to go in. Everyone has that one friend who you love, but at times really question what you like about them. Chowder is annoying but designed to be likeable despite that. Unfortunately, this isn't particularly well achieved as often his moments of comedy come across as detractions from the charm of the movie.

He makes mistakes all the time, continually has cheesy and unfunny lines and has an irritating scream that he brings to the table almost constantly. There is very little subtlety to him, and this makes watching his moments in the feature painful.
