10 Most Annoying Animated Movie Characters

Cars is an outlier in the Pixar's line-up. Whilst they traditionally make pretty sublime outings, this one was mostly mundane but had some good moments scattered throughout. The characters were generally well thought out, and its narrative had a nice message to it. But its focus on comedy never went particularly well as the relief came in the form of Mater.

The role already starts badly when you find out that he is played by Larry the Cable Guy. Anyone remotely familiar with his work will know that the jokes are going to be diabolically unsubtle and bear no nuance at all. The character ends up taking on the stereotype of an American redneck. Judging by the voice actor, this isn't very surprising at all as this is the persona he has always presented.

The joke wears thin very quickly and wasn't even funny to begin with. All you are left with is an uninteresting stereotype that doesn't bring anything to the plot. He takes a mostly decent production and ruins its value to bring it down to a mediocre one.
