10 Most Annoying Animated Movie Characters
4. Koda - Brother Bear
This entry is a challenge to the consensus of this article, in that the irritation of the character ends up having quite a profound narrative pay off that makes all the trouble you go through worth it. That doesn't mean that he isn't still an incredibly annoying presence, but it at least delivers on a motive for generating such an overly talkative character.
Brother Bear is a great film that explores a man turned into a bear after needlessly killing one. He pairs up with the young cub Koda, and they journey to turn him back into a human.
Koda - played by Jeremy Suarez - is such a force of nature when it comes to being too much. He never shuts up, to the absolute dismay of our rather stoic lead character. However, eventually, a dramatic twist is revealed that makes the change between their dynamic incredibly powerful. Had Koda not been so irritatingly attached to our lead then perhaps this wouldn't have had the amount of resonance that it did.
Sometimes you have to sacrifice a little of your patience to gain a good pay-off.
