Blumhouse is at it again with the white suits, aka a psychologically scarring deep dives into fractured psyches, darkest wish fulfilment, and enigmatic strangers that promise everything you could dream of. Fantasy Island is set to deliver a subversive take on an old TV show that saw Mr. Roarke grant one wish of those that came to see him, with a price always paid for the result. Mythological, supernatural, and time-travelling elements weren't out of the show's boundaries - something that this horror adaptation seems to be cashing in on as well.

Described as Westworld meets The Cabin in the Woods, there's a seriously high bar been set by virtue of association alone, even if there is a slight worry that the trailer might give the game away a little too enthusiastically.

Still, Fantasy Island looks like a wonderful, typical Blumhouse horror with plenty of nonsense to pad out its scares with. Lucy Hale coming back from Truth or Dare is enough to seal the deal on this one, so if you go in with your expectations firmly set on blockbuster horror with a hint of the weird: you'll come out happy on 6 February 2020.
