10 Most Anticipated Horror Movies Still To Come In 2024

Adapted from his own Laura Hasn't Slept short film, Parker Finn's Smile was one of the biggest horror hits of 2022. So much so, it was the top-grossing horror movie of the year and resulted in Finn penning a multi-year first-look deal with Paramount Pictures.

As such, it's no surprise to hear that a currently untitled Smile sequel is on the way later this year, with that follow-up seemingly set to pick things up, at least initially, with Kyle Gallner's Joel. The end of Smile saw the film's cursed demonic entity passed on to Joel as his partner Rose fatally set herself on fire, and Gallner is confirmed to be returning for this sequel.

In terms of new additions, Naomi Scott - best known for playing Princess Jasmine in the 2019 Aladdin - has landed what's described as a leading role, and she'll be joined by the likes of Rosemarie DeWitt (La La Land), Lukas Gage (Euphoria), and Dylan Gelula (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt).

Given how Parker Finn has previously talked about how there's still so much left to explore within the world of Smile, one has to imagine that further films could be on the way should Smile 2 prove to be a success.

Release Date: 18 October
