10 Most Anticipated Original Horror Films 2019
8. The Prodigy
We all love a story about spooky children, the terrifying sprogs that they are. From The Exorcist, to The Omen, to The Witch, even to The Grudge, sticking 'The' on the front of it and peddling a story about a misunderstood kid with evil capabilities is a story that always keeps audiences coming back. And the latest to that admirable line up is 2019's The Prodigy.
When a young boy starts to show signs of demonic possession - and remember, we know from all those other spooky children films - a mother seeks help from a therapist. Battling between loving and nurturing her gifted son going through a dark turn and desperately seeking what's actually wrong with him, mother Sarah just wants whatever supernatural entity that's involved with her son to leave him alone, but first, she's got to figure out what it is.
Apparently, this one had scenes so scary the test audiences screamed to much to hear following dialogue scenes and as a result, the film had to be recut to compensate. They've set the bar pretty high here. Either that or there's going to be a lot of awkward long pauses between scares.
