Despite the shamefully awkward title, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga promises a much-anticipated return not to the Mel Gibson desert actioners but the shiny and chrome world George Miller rebuilt in Fury Road.

The latest entry to the 40-year franchise ditches Fury Road's stellar cast to head back to the roots of its secondary hero, picking up the story of fan-favourite Furiosa (this time played by Anya Taylor-Joy) as she is kidnapped from her family and finds her way into the hands of Immortan Joe.

But it's not all set up for what we've already seen, as Chris Hemsworth is on board as a big, buff, crazy biker warlord by the name of Dementus, representing a rare and welcome opportunity for the Aussie to use his native accent and kick around in his own back yard.

And hey, even if Taylor-Joy and Hemsworth aren't your usual cup of tea, Furiosa will serve as an excellent refresher in preparation for the rumoured return of Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy in a further instalment.
