10 Most Awesome Fistfights In Movie History
4. Snatch - Mickey Vs. Horace 'Good Night' Anderson
It's time to step into the boxing ring! Brad Pitt is no stranger to a good fistfight, receiving an earful during Fight Club as well as 'watching' Narrator pummel Baby Face into mincemeat. This time, it's Pitt's turn to deal out some damage.
Pitt's Irish Traveller Mickey O'Neil has beaten his previous two opponents with one punch, so this final fight at the end of Snatch should be simple. Unfortunately, the catch is he has to go down in the fourth round otherwise he, his family, and his boxing promoter Turkish (Jason Statham) will meet a grisly end as pig food.
Things begin tense when Mickey looks like he'll repeat his track record with a one-hit KO. Thankfully, Anderson gets up, and the two engage in a montage of boxing fists gorgeously edited with Guy Ritchie's signature quick-cut style. Things come to a head in the fourth round, as Anderson undercuts Mickey in the air, leading to a dream-like sequence where it seems like Mickey's out for good.
However, things take an unexpected turn as 'One-Punch Mickey' lands a final devastating blow on Anderson. The fight itself is a visual masterpiece and also plays a significant narrative role as Turkish realises Mickey always intended on winning the boxing match, promptly dispatching their would-be killers after the bell rings.
