A real-life student of Ip Man, there's no way Lee was falling to the wayside in this list. While his cellar battle in Enter the Dragon is an excellent display of combat prowess, the fight between Lee as Hong Kong native Tang Lung and debuting Chuck Norris as the world-class martial artist Colt is a sight to behold.

This fight scene is close to perfection, and director Bruce Lee uses its ten-minute run-time exceptionally well. Tension rises as the two flex in preparation, before both exchanging a series of punches and kicks. Lee shoots the scene exquisitely, expertly interlacing first-person perspectives, pull-focuses and slow-motion throughout this legendary battle.

The Colosseum backdrop makes both fighters appear larger-than-life as the camera frames their bodies in full. The fight's technicality involved should be admired too, with both parrying lightning-fast strikes as Colt keeps an eye on Tang's impressive footwork.

There's a surprisingly emotional pay-off too as Colt becomes too injured to fight. Tang tries to dissuade him from attacking any further, yet Colt persists, leading to his ultimate demise. As a show of good faith, Tang places his gi and black belt on top of the body. Seeing these two battle it out is every martial artist fan's dream come true.
