1. The Winter Soldier Will Become Captain America
If the comic books are to be followed for Captain Americas death, then surely Marvel will follow the aftermath faithfully as well. Believing that the world stills needs a Captain America, it’s Bucky who steps up to wield the shield and takes on his mentor's role.
It's worth noting that the same rumours purporting that Cap will die also suggest that Bucky will replace him. So while this rumour is reliant on another rumour coming true, Bucky ascension to Captain America's role has been foreshadowed in the MCU and would certainly line up with his journey towards redemption.
From a production standpoint, Sebastian Stan has a massive contract and it’s clear that Marvel is moving towards highlighting new faces for their brand. Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America are slowly being phased out in favour of new players like Black Panther, Doctor Strange, and The Winter Soldier.
While we may not actually Bucky in a new costume by the end of Civil War, if Cap is to fall, you can bet that he'll be the one holding the shield when all is said and done.
