10 Most Brutal Slasher Movie Killers
9. Leatherface
(First appearance: The Texas Chain Saw Massacre - 1974)
The longest reigning marauder of mayhem on our list, Leatherface is the cannibal who occupies the role of family butcher, a butcher that comes equipped with a hammer, meat hooks, and as the titular flick would suggest: a flesh-tearing chainsaw - a piece of garden equipment utilised as a catalyst for a series of gritty homicides.
Homicide may be synonymous with this movie, but the deaths themselves aren't shown in grisly detail. As a matter of fact, the on-screen violence is tonally undercut for the most part, with not even a single scene in the original movie containing a shot of a chainsaw penetrating human skin.
Then the sequels and remakes happened.
Carving the limbs from wanderers and eating them, whilst probably wearing the same person as a mask, is an intense upgrade If the cynicism found in over the top scenes from the sequels (such as a scene in Leatherface's origin story which see's him cutting a man's face to brandish into a mask) doesn't make your skin crawl: then it's on far too tight.
